F as in Fat: Study Shows Minnesota's Kids need Physical Education

Minnesota Youth 30th Most Overweight, up from 47th in 2007! According to a new report by Trust for America's Health (TFAH), our children are healthier than most, but we have a ways to go! Check out the report for more information about the obesity rates in Minnesota-- and what could be causing them!

In 2003, the Minnesota Legislature abolished the graduation requirement for physical education. Minnesota is also only one of three states without statewide curriculum standards for physical education. While there is much work to do at the state level, action is currently happening at the federal level through the Fit Kids Act.

Tell your state legislators, Governor and Education Commissioner Seagren this issue is important to you!
